So 2016 may have been an all around shitter for the collective world but perhaps in a moment of rosiness it could be considered the best catalyst for some much needed counter culture as people find creative ways to kick back at the man. Enter Hotel Lux, an emerging London outfit, whose new track 'Envoi' is all about how things are going down the drain. Just like their pals Shame, they aren't happy about it and the disgust can be heard in the snarls and spitting soliloquies that spill forth. Part The Fall, part Fat White Family, Hotel Lux are astute as knives under the fuzz. The track is the first on a forthcoming singles discovery series on the brilliant RIP Records and no doubt, it won't be the last we hear from Hotel Lux either. - SJ
